Description:
East Metro Women\'s Council (EMWC) provides housing, rental assistance and support services for homeless and low-income families in Ramsey County. The children at East Metro Women\'s Council (EMWC) are calling! They are looking for someone fun to spend some time with them! We have numerous programs to help our supportive housing residents become better community members. We offer Budgeting, Career/Job Development, Parenting Classes, Tennant Training, Resume Writing and DBT classes, for our parents. We need to make sure our children are well cared for. If you enjoy spending time with children and helping them become self-reliant then please join our team of volunteers. Call Cheryl Schindler at 651-773-8401 X 116 to attend a volunteer orientation. They are held most every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 PM. at EMWC. Enjoy children! You\'ll need to go through a volunteer orientation, and do a background check to keep our vulnerable children safe. We work with a population of 71% of African Americans and we are especially interested in recruiting positive role models for our youth. Currently we have no men at EMWC. This is an on-going need. Times needed are: Mondays 1-4:30 PM.: Tuesdays 9 AM. - 12:00 PM. or 5:30-7:30 PM.; Wednesdays 9 AM. - 12:00 PM. or 6-8 PM,; Thursdays 1-3 PM; Fridays 9 AM. - 12:00 PM. Occasionally we need help on Monday evenings from 5-8 PM. for childcare for the Price is Right or for our Baby Shower.
